Hall Of Famer, Rickey Henderson died on December 20, 2024, which was 5 days before his birthday. Rickey Henderson’s birthday was on Christmas.  Rickey Henderson was a 10x All Star, 2x World Series Champion, AL MVP and a 12x AL stolen base leader!  He won the Gold Glove Award once and the Silver Slugger Award three times! He also had 1,406 career stolen bases, 2,295 career runs and 130 stolen bases in a single season!  Rickey Henderson was an amazing player!  That’s why the A’s retired his number, 24.  A big coincidence is Willie Mays and Rickey Henderson, who both wore 24 died in 2024. Former Yankees All-Star, Juan Soto joins the Mets for 15 years with a $765 million contract!  Maybe with Soto, Lindor, Nimmo and a bit of Grimace, the Mets might go to the World Series! The Dodgers won the World Series! This is the first time two players who’ve hit 50 home runs in a season have played against each other in the World Series.   I’m glad the Dodgers won, because Othani and Betts are some of my favourite players.   And Freeman’s historic walk-off grand slam in Game 1 was crazy! Now that Juan Soto’s contract is over, the Dodgers are trying to get him! Maybe Soto and Shohei will be teammates. Maybe his contract will be even bigger than Othani’s! Yankees top competitors for Soto are the Mets, Giants and the Blue Jays.

In baseball news so far some wacky, crazy, and funny stuff has happened.  Let’s review starting off with Danny Jansen, who swapped teams mid-game! Former Blue Jays player Danny Jansen was playing a game on June 26 but it got suspended due to rain in the second inning, while Danny was at bat. On July 27, Danny got swapped for minor leaguers Cutter Coffey, Eddinson Paulino, and Gilberto Batista.  On August 26, Jansen continued the game playing for the Boston Red Sox, while Daulton Varsho pinch-hit in his place. After Varsho struck out in the top half of the second inning, Danny Jansen came to bat for the Red Sox in the bottom half of the same inning, hitting a line drive and getting to first base.
