RIP Rickey Henderson

 Hall Of Famer, Rickey Henderson died on December 20, 2024, which was 5 days before his birthday. Rickey Henderson’s birthday was on Christmas. 



Rickey Henderson was a 10x All Star, 2x World Series Champion, AL MVP and a 12x AL stolen base leader!  He won the Gold Glove Award once and the Silver Slugger Award three times! He also had 1,406 career stolen bases, 2,295 career runs and 130 stolen bases in a single season!  Rickey Henderson was an amazing player!  That’s why the A’s retired his number, 24.  A big coincidence is Willie Mays and Rickey Henderson, who both wore 24 died in 2024. I wonder if ‘25 is gonna get anyone?

If I traveled back in time and told you “You know the purple guy from McDonalds, Grimace? The Savannah Bananas, founded in 2016, are a baseball team that plays in Savannah, Georgia at The Grayson Stadium. There’s just one thing: they play  Bananaball , a totally new version of America’s favourite pastime. They’re basically The Harlem Globetrotters of the diamond. Bananaball added eight different rules to the sport. Let’s check them out! Rule #1. Every Inning Counts.  To get a point you need to win the inning by getting more runs than the other team. But in the last inning of Bananaball every run counts as a point. Rule #2. Two Hour Time Limit.     After two hours the game ends and whoever has more points wins. If the match is tied at the end it’s The Ultimate Showdown: pitcher vs. batter with just one fielder. The pitcher and the fielder must stop the batter before he can score a run. Rule #3.
