Happy New Years!!!! 2024 is a big year for baseball, with Shohei Othani’s 50/50, The McMets’ Grimace Era, the world’s biggest baseball contract of all time, swapping teams mid-game, the 3 rookie Jacksons and a walk-off grand slam in the World Series. This was an exciting year. We were all waiting for Shohei Othani’s 50/50, and waiting to see who Juan Soto would sign with. This was the best way to end this generation in baseball.  This is my first year playing baseball and it was so fun watching the Mets play, until they lost and didn’t get into the World Series. :(   What might happen next year in 2025? Will the Mets win the World Series with Juan Soto?  Who knows?  Hall Of Famer, Rickey Henderson died on December 20, 2024, which was 5 days before his birthday. Rickey Henderson’s birthday was on Christmas.  Rickey Henderson was a 10x All Star, 2x World Series Champion, AL MVP and a 12x AL stolen base leader!  He won the Gold Glove Award once and the Silver Slugger Award three times! He also had 1,406 career stolen bases, 2,295 career runs and 130 stolen bases in a single season!  Rickey Henderson was an amazing player!  That’s why the A’s retired his number, 24.  A big coincidence is Willie Mays and Rickey Henderson, who both wore 24 died in 2024.
